| Sen. Judd Gregg: Mandated coverage is keeping many in NH uninsured
Like most states, New Hampshire struggles with the issue of affordable health insurance coverage for its citizens. Roughly 150,000 people across the state lack health insurance. Of this number, a large group, approximately 75,000, are working-age individuals or their families who choose not to buy coverage or who work for employers who cannot afford to pay for their coverage. In most cases, this is caused by the high cost of premiums for health insurance. This is a serious problem for each and every uninsured family struggling to access basic health care services. And it is being made worse by new and excessive health insurance mandates proposed by the Democratic-run Legislature, which are driving the cost of insurance higher and pushing more people into the ranks of the uninsured.
Health Tip: Eating After Weight-Loss Surgery
(HealthDay News) - It's crucial to eat right after you've had bariatric or other types of weight-loss surgery. The MetroHealth System offers these suggestions: Because your stomach is smaller, eat small meals regularly throughout the day instead of a few large meals. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly -- it may take about an hour to eat your meals. About 30 minutes after meals, drink fluids in small sips -- do not drink beverages with meals. Avoid eating sweets. -- Diana Kohnle Copyright 2007 ScoutNews, LLC. All rights reserved. .

The presentations will highlight results from the recently-completed RECORD1 (Regulation of Coagulation in major Orthopaedic surgery reducing the Risk of DVT and PE) and RECORD2 studies in total hip replacement surgery as well as additional data from the RECORD3 trial, which evaluated rivaroxaban in total knee replacement surgery.
